Zephaniah 3:17 – Years ago when I first heard this verse I picture myself as a baby sleeping in a crib and God the Father standing over me singing a lullaby. Now I see it in an even greater way. Many times, I praise the Lord when I really don’t feel like it. Usually after singing just one song, my cold heart becomes warm and fuzzy. After two or three songs, my heart is on fire and the cares of the world are gone. However, there are times when the Lord does something amazing that it makes me burst in songs of praise. It is as if I forgot the Lord was with me and then when He shows Himself strong I get so excited I start singing praises to Him. But this verse says, God rejoices over ME with singing. How cool is that! It is as if there I am doing my own thing, thinking about self and then I decide to seek the Lord. I walk right up to Him and thankfully He doesn’t say, what do you need now. Rather He starts singing. He is happy to see me come to Him. It’s as if the two of us became separated in the busy city of sin. Just when we are starting to get worried that we are lost, we see each other. I run to Him since the crowd frighten me and He starts singing. He found me lost in the crowd and now He is rejoicing over seeing me. You know the feeling when you are invited to a party and you are scared to death to go because you think you won’t fit in. You open the door thinking no one will want to stop talking long enough to say hi to you. Then the host sees you and yells out your name and pushes through the crowd to hug you, takes you by the hand and stays with you the entire time. They are thrilled you came. The Lord is thrilled when you come to Him, so thrilled He starts singing. Father God, no one has ever loved me like You have loved me. I am so thankful. I was worried going to heaven and not finding anyone who knows me. You know me better than anyone else and You will be there to greet me with a beautiful smile and arms opened wide. O death, where is your sting.

that no matter what my Lord my God is with me He takes delight in me and loves me, He does not rebuke me but instead He lifts me up and He always fights in my behalf against the enemy. My God is a strong tower and I run to Him and I am safe
