Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

When God made each of us He gave us all different gifts, different looks and different personalities. Sometimes we wish we were different and try to change ourselves - by surgeries, drugs or however we can. But if God made us then what are we telling Him, I trust in you but I think you messed up with making me? Lord, I might sometimes wish I was thinner, or maybe taller but I know you made me just as I am. So I choose to be who you created me to be.

This verse means that God is the creator of all things and therefore sovereign.when He decides something its final.

The Body of Christ is made of many members who have different spiritual gifts. God gave some to be Apostles, some Preachers, some Teachers and some Prophets. But not one spiritual gift is greater than the other. Christ did this for the edification of and equipping of God's children.

The image of God as the potter and we are the clay, resulting in vessels, is presented in several places in Scripture. Imagine that we are like cups in God's cupboard. Some cups are for drinking coffee every morning. Some are for drinking tea in the afternoon. Some are wonderful big mugs for hot chocolate. Some are dainty and beautiful for special company

(Cont) each cup has a specific duty/function. Some will be used on a daily basis, some will only be used on special occasions, yet we can rest assured that we WILL be used.

We are all different and God has a purpose for us. We may not understand it, but should look to see how we can be better people.

I think what God is saying is that He has made some people especially to fulfill a purpose and to make His glory known. He loves all of us the same ,but to fulfill His plans and scriptures He had to put certain people in place . Just as this scripture says a potter has the right out of the same lump of clay to make something special like a fine vase and something common like a plate. We all have a purpose just some a little more than others.
