Romans 8:15
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Romans 8: 14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. WOW! What an amazing promise! When we hear and receive the gospel, repent and ask Jesus to come into our heart to be our Lord, Saviour and forever friend, His Spirit comes to live inside us, and we're literally adopted as Gods kids! Abba, in vs 15 is an endearing term, what we call Papa or Daddy. When we hear the word, "Father", it conjures up a different memory for each of us. For some of us, it's an awesome pleasant memory, for others of us, not so much. As a matter of fact, some folks get all kinds of negative thoughts and emotions at the mention of that word. In one of our prisons, they decided to offer the prisoners the opportunity to send cards to their mothers on Mothers Day. They supplied all the cards and postage. The prisoners participated 100%. It was such a success, they decided to do it for Fathers Day, and the participation was 0%. That's a huge testimony of the fatherless society we're living in today, and just how important it is for us to be loved properly by our fathers. And right before that, we're told that we didn't receive the "spirit" of fear. If we weren't loved properly by our fathers, we become insecure, and insecurity breeds fear. 1 John 4:8 tells us that perfect love "casts out" fear. Fear is an evil spirit that must be "cast out". The devil is the ultimate fear monger. He lives in constant fear, because he knows his destiny. He's gonna end up in the lake of fire along with all his followers. That's enough to cause fear in anyone. The sad part of this is that the future is sealed for the devil and all his principalities. They've already been judged and sentenced. As long as we humans have breath, we have a choice for to our destiny: heaven or the Lake of fire. God sent His Only Begotten Son from Heaven where it's perfect to come down here and become one of us, suffer and die a horrible death on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Now every provision has been made for us, and all we hafta do is accept the gift He provided for us. If someone gives us a gift, and we never open it, it's not the givers fault, it's ours. Papa God, thank You for Your unspeakable gift of Jesus perfect sacrifice that gave me the opportunity to become Your Child.

As I look around I see so many people living in fear...with the economy, wars & rumors of wars, unemployment, or just the current state of society in general. I love this verse because this is what I cry out "Abba Father!" if I did not have Christ I would be lost and probably would be suicidal wondering what is the point BUT thank God Almightly I have Christ Jesus!

As a mother, it is scary to hear a healthy child yesterday is facing death today. This scare quickly turns into fright as everyone comes with stories, hoping to help. Kind hearted people will give direction of where to go, advice to take, which Doctor is the best, and how fast to get it done. Dealing with the unknown factors of any situations is beyond frightful, this can cause the walls of fear to feel as if they are circling together and closing. Many times, this verse came to my remembrance to cry out, Abba Father.. That God was in control of the situation and there was nothing to fear. God also gave me new sight.. I didn't want to walk down this path in life..God taught me how this was not my path but a pothole in the road which He already place me on..
