Romans 10:2
For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

The Israelites were zealous (passionate, devoted) for God, but it was not based on knowledge. And so for these things to have meaning the zeal that they have should be accompanied with knowledge and faith. God wants us to know about Him if we know about Him our faith can grow we need to believe in Him for salvation and continued belief in Him.

Many today have zeal for god.but they do not know the true God . There are so many false religions and many false beliefs. If anyone is not trusting the Creator of the World, the One who took on flesh and came to earth to die for our sins and then rise from the dead their zeal is not based on knowledge. Our God was not created,he always was, he is the Eternal One. Our God is alive, he speaks to us and is to be trusted by faith. Thank you Jesus, let my zeal be for you.

Lord help me NOT to be on fire for God and be all wrong in my expression of that fire, oh my! We can get so carried away with rituals and traditions that we miss the spirit and truth of our relationship with God. Jesus, said to "learn of me". The Psalmist said Moses knew the God's "ways", while Israel knew God's "acts" (or deeds). Lord, help me to know your ways!
