It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

This day is just around the corner. It is said every year technology is trippled on what it could do to the prior year. At this rate, we already microchipped our pets, and now some schools are havnig students "wear" a GPS tag and our smart phones have GPS we can activiate "volenteerily" (for now). Soon, everything will be manditory when the "great falling away" comes.

Without a mark, a person will be unable to engage in routine commerce. Notice here, it does not say you cannot live. It says you cannot buy or sell. DO NOT TAKE THIS MARK; Jesus will help you. Anyone who accepts this mark during the Tribulation has already made his choice, and that choice will permanently disqualify its wearer from heaven. Remember when you get the mark you MUST swear allegiance to the Antichrist as god. It isn't merely economic, it is a worship system. Accepting the mark is tantamount to a rejection of Jesus. This is a permanent, irreversible rejection. Many currently worry that they will accept the mark accidentally, such as the case with national ID cards. This is not so. To accept the mark of the beast, one will knowingly agree to renounce God and to accept this mark. Without the mark, no one will be able to buy or sell and will fear they and/or their family will die. But to accept the mark means eternal death. "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the lamb." (Rev. 14 v.10)

I agree with Don, Lori, you're smack on. The mark is a rejection of Christ and therefore irreversible, condemning that person to the fires of hell. If we remain faithful, God will provide a way of survival. Help us to keep focused on Jesus, Lord.

Excellent explaination Lori. I put your comment together with Rev 3:10 and John 17:5 where it explains we will be "kept" from the tribulation (not taken out), and since we will be still able to live as you stated, maybe it ties together with Rev 12:6. A little symbolic, but maybe this is us being kept safe when people are taking the Mark. (just a thought).....

Leaphlina, I tend to believe they may not all be bad people but many may be nominal Christians as well, who have not taken the time to read, study and apply the word of God to their lives. I believe the Bible is inexhaustible. No one has ever reached total understanding of it. I guess that's what makes it so interesting, that we've never reached the limit of understanding. Only God could arrange such a thing. There's always something new to discover.
