David trusts in the Lord his God, and cries out for God to protect him from those who pursue him. Lord, let David be an example for us, when we see our enemies pursuing us to destroy us, that we may call out to You for our protection. Amen

David is asking God for protection from those who are pursuing him. God protects us as well but we are still responsible to make the choice to follow God.

Psalms 7:1
Lord my God, I take refuge in you;
save and deliver me from all who pursue me,
save and deliver me from all who pursue me,
Terry J. from Hinsdale, NY said:
A refuge is a place where you can run to find shelter and protection from dangers. In Joshua's day the people of Jericho thought their city was a place of refuge but how did that work for them when the God of Heaven brought down the city's walls? David didn't find refuge in a place. He found refuge in a person - God. God is a safe refuge because unlike any earthly fortress He cannot be moved. We are safe and secure in the Lord as our refuge!
