Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
"They have greatly oppressed me" The cry of a persecuted believer, we see many Nations that persecute believers, we see that today. But we need to remember God judged those Nations in the end. The persecutor's will not gain victory over us. There is Victory in Jesus.

The people of Israel were persecuted from the time of her beginning, but she was never destroyed completely. The same is true of the church. Believers throughout the centuries have been persecuted relentlessly but the church will be here when Jesus returns. Come Lord Jesus!

For centuries the Jews have been persecuted. So many times their enemies have tried to wipe them off the face of the earth and have failed. Always there is a remnant remaining! My heart is hurting when I see how they are being persecuted.

Israel has had many enemies ever since it's inception. Ever since the devil knew that God was going to bring us our Messiah thru Israel, he's been on a mission to destroy them and the devil has always had plenty of willing candidates to do His bidding. The devil hates what God loves. The list of the nations that fought against Israel is loooooong. But the psalmist doesn't write such a list. They are wicked and don't deserve any honorable mention. God is good. It's his enemy, the devil, who's always causing trouble for God’s people. But God is always on the side of the just and helps his people through their troubles. As we're under burdens we feel are impossible to "pull the plough" as vs 3 and 4 indicate, He comes along and cuts those cords and relieves our burden. God allows His enemy, the devil, to test his people with various troubles. But according to the book of Job, He puts a limit on what the devil may do, and as I've stated here before, I've read the last chapter and we WIN! The devil is a "dead man walking". He knows his days are numbered. I'm not sure if he's actually deluded himself into thinking he has a chance of winning or if he just knows he looses in the end and wants to take as many people down with him as possible. Papa God, please show me all these lost, blinded people as on their way to hell and Be more concerned with saving their soul than offending their feelings. But at the same time, Lord don't EVER let me be more concerned with their soul that I offend then and bruise fruit and make it difficult or impossible to maintain an open door for friendship and Your Love to work in and thru them. My job may be to just plant or water, please don't let me EVER make being the harvester my priority. Let me be ever so sensitive to Your Spirit that I'll need only a whisper to know when to go forward and when to back off.
