The Lord said to Moses, "Put back Aaron's staff in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die."

During Moses time it was about rules and obedience. The staff that was put back was a sign of rebellious and sign that God had forgiven them. Today we are forgiven by the Cross and if we believe we have eternal life. Thank you Jesus for the Cross.

The Lord's signature that Aaron of the tribe of Levi, had the only authority to make the sacrifices for the sins of the Israelites, because the Lord had assigned that authority.
