Matthew 23:26
Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

In this verse the inside of the cup (or dish) represents ones' character. We can be clean on the outside, appearing to be this way or that and deceiving. We need first to clean the inside. By asking for forgiveness of our sins, and accepting Jesus into our lives and be lord over our lives is the first and most important step of this inward cleansing. Thank you Jesus for forgiveness of sins and for cleansing me of my sins.

what we showed outside always differ from our inside, we usually show our good side out. But if inside is not clean, the nice outside will finally burned. If inside clean, the outside, though not be cleaned, will also burnished.

A Christian's witness (what we do) should be in alignment with the theological phrases we quote (what we say).

Jesus is telling me to be clean inside first(through him) and than I will be made clean outside.I should show outside righteousness but that comes from inviting Jesus into my life. As the leper said "Jesus make me clean"

I love how Jesus reminds us numerous times that it is more important to have right motives on the inside. I think this verse gives an awesome opportunity to reflect the Grace given to us so freely by God....and how you are given a new chance everyday to "get it right" on the inside. It is so great to know that God will meet you where you are and help you each day to "clean the inside of your cup" if you just ask Him, and before you know it the outside will clean itself....God Bless
