Jesus certainly gives a strong warning to these leaders. There are many teachers today who are promoting a false gospel message. Shouldn't we be concerned about warning them?

I can't help but think of the many individuals who are leading people down the wrong path; saying one thing and doing something totally opposite. Here God makes it plain and lets you know that it won't fly in heaven!

I am challenged by the first part of this verse. instead of " teachers and Pharisees' we could substitute " christians" My prayer is Lord may I never be responsible for causing anyone to go to hell because my walk does not match my talk and I am perceived as an hypocrite. If I have caused anyone to stumble please show me and help me to make it right. I love you Jesus and my desire is to please you in all I do.

The teachers of the law and Pharisees were putting man made requirements on the people. They missed the spirit of God's word and worried about traditions that they established.
