Mark 8:12
He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it."

Think about this verse....."Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it." ..... Today, just like in the times of Jesus, we are looking for signs from heaven....hoping to see some miracle...hoping to see something that appears before our eyes......Jesus said that there would be no sign given, because in all reality there are signs all over God's creation....look at the trees, the flowers, the sunrise and the sunset....night and day....rain and sunlight.....dew on the grass in the morning hours to water the drying grass.....we do not need a sign...we have more than I can list here....sit and look around at the wonders of God's kingdom...see it in the eyes of a loved one....see it in the affection of your pet....God is everywhere and very visible to those that seek his presence......this very verse is the topic of my Sunday school lesson tomorrow.....may God enlighten your day today!

I see so many Christians around me getting caught up with studying prophecy and understanding the signs of the times, and I'm like, how does this help your walk with Christ? Those passages do not challenge you to become more godly. Some are more motivated to share the gospel, and that is necessary, but so is spiritual growth. I believe when Christians become more Christ-like there will be more soulwinning.

Understanding how to become more Christ-like is a challenge in this day and age...but listening to the word of God and listening to God alone, we can achieve that status....we grow each and every day and we are faced with challenges that develop our walk with Christ....the world is alive with the signs of God....the ability to open our eyes to that spectacle brings our spirit and the Holy Spirit closer and closer in becoming one. I like your thoughts Maggie!

It is so sad that we always want to be able to see something before we will believe. Through this entire book we are being taught faith, we must have faith to believe. God's miracles are around us every day. Just look at the flowers, the trees, the birds, babies born, and the list just keeps going. To me it all begins with faith.

Well said Patty, faith does not come by miracles or signs, faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Like you said Patty, if faith came by miracles everyone would be saved. There are miracles all around us.

Until today, our generation, also many people ask for sign. Those ask for sign will mot be given, coz they do not trust our God, they only trust what they saw. Jesus said, no sign will be given to those who asked for sign.
