Mark 7:15
Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them. "
Jorgie H. from Somewhere said:
The evil thoughts that come from the outside into us do not define who we are but it is what's in our heart and what comes out of us that defines who we are. We are what God puts in our heart and that is pure love.

It is so easy to get caught up in human or religious tradition as He spoke in verse 13 but to forget the true word of God. Lord, help me/us not to fall into man made and religious tradition, as the pharisees did, when it doesn't line up with Your word. Amen

What goes into a person is food, and in a sense that alone cannot cause a person to express ill feelings, hatred, grudges, revenge and mistreatment. Its the very things that flow from a persons thought process, verbal attacks and motives that defiles people. On the outside, many of these traits can be overlooked, but our Lord looks on the inside to see deep within our hearts the very things we display. He knows our thoughts and desires. Our cup needs cleansing on both the outer and inner surfaces.
