Mark 6:4
Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home."

Mark 6:4-6 But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house." Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. It must have hurt Jesus feelings badly to be rejected by friends and neighbors. When we feel rejected, we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus also suffered the pain of rejection. Heb 4: 15-16 tells us that we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Satan will use people to reject us, and it's our choice as to whether we'll receive it or not. Usually, rejection comes when we're too young to discern what it is. The devil is no gentleman. His job description is to kill, steal and destroy. None of those fit into the description of a gentleman. Jesus did not let this rejection by His countrymen get Him down and into self pity, He got on with the business of teaching and ministry. In May 24 and Mark 13, the disciples marveled at the beautiful temple, Jesus never marveled at art, architecture of any kind of human ingenuity or invention or even the wonders of creation. There's no mention of Him marveling about anything except faith and the amount of it people had great or small. Here we see Him marveling because of their unbelief aka lack of faith. God may work where there's no belief, but He won't work where there's unbelief.
