Mark 5:30
At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
Donna N. from Orlando, FL said:
Mark 5:21-34 Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. 22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet 23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” 24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him. 25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behindHim in the crowd and touched His garment.28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in herbody that she was healed of the affliction.30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say,‘Who touched Me?’”32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her,“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
According to the Levitical law, because of this issue of blood, this woman was unclean. She was probably weak from the loss of blood, her pocket book was weak as a result of the Dr bills, but worse yet, no one could touch her or sit on a chair she sat on, eat food she prepared lest they also become unclean. But she's heard about Jesus and His miracles and gets encouraged in her faith saying, "if I just touch His garment, I'll be heald. I guess she figured she had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
With all the people thronging around Jesus, she figured she'd sneak in there, touch His garment, and scoot back out and no one would notice. I've been in situations where God was moving thru me and there's absolutely NOTHING like that feeling. So every time Jesus healed someone, He must've felt the power surge thru Him, and even with all the jostling of people around Which was a physical sensation, the healing she received was spiritual and He immediately felt it, and for some reason, He felt it necessary to stop everything and find out who out of all these people it was. But, according to this passage, she felt it too.
Also, Touching Jesus should have made him unclean, but instead, the touch made the woman clean, but Jesus was still Jesus unchanged, the same yesterday, today and forever! She was no longer defiled, weak, poor, or outcast approaching from behind in shame. No, she's now gone down in history as a faith-filled daughter of God. She is now healed and as she walks away in peace, she can walk with her head held high knowing that Jesus called her "daughter".
This is an interesting "story within a story". Jesus on the way to heal a 12 year old girl, has a woman who's been unclean for 12 years. Yes, while life is happening for us, it's also happening for others, and in the middle of rejoicing that the woman is healed, Jairus' people come up and tell him his daughter is dead.
Jairus must've felt that if Jesus would've hurried it along a little, he might've gotten there in time to heal his daughter. But as Jesus overhears the conversation, he tells Jairus “Do not fear, only believe.” I wonder if witnessing this woman's healing gave Jairus a measure of faith he didn't have before, I mean healing is one thing, but bringing someone back from the dead is quite another.
Then, when Jesus gets to Jairus house, He sent out the mockers and went in and touched the dead girl. According to the Levitical law, if you touched a dead person, you became unclean. Once again, Jesus doesn't become unclean, but the little girl is healed and clean. God's Holy power flows one way from and thru Jesus, proving He has all power over nature, demons and death itself.
Thank You, Jesus for Your awesome healing power that cleans the nastiest stains as white as snow yet never defiles You. We can come to You with the worst of sins and thru repentance, be made a new creature in Christ.

The woman knew that she needed to touch the hem of His garment. After spending all she had looking to be healed, she knew that if she could just touch his garment she would be healed. She knew that Jesus was what she needed.

Although the women was healed when she touched him, Jesus said her faith caused the cure . Genuine faith involves action, Faith that isn't put into actions is not faith at all

How wonderful to know we cannot get lost in the crowd when trying to touch Jesus. He knows everything about us and cares about everything that affects us. Jesus already knew who had touched Him but asked the question so she could come forward and acknowledge what He had done for her. We too, must testify about what God has done for us.

This scripture is just awesome to me.This woman barely touched the hem of His clothes and she believed that if she did she would be healed ,and she was instantly, she didn't have any doubt. Jesus knew even from that light touch on His clothes that He had healed someone, what awesome power He has ,and it is power we are free to use anytime if only we can believe like the woman in this scripture.
