Mark 12:10
Haven't you read this passage of Scripture:

" 'The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;

Mark 12:10-12 Have you not even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?" And they sought to lay hands on Him, but feared the multitude, for they knew He had spoken the parable against them. So they left Him and went away. Jesus was using this Scripture to conclude his parable about the owner of the vineyard sending servant after servant to collect his just earnings and they killed or maimed all of them, then the owner sent His Son. These ingrates figured if they killed the Son, they'd inherit the vineyard by default. All thru history, humanity has been shooting the Messenger when they don't like the message. That's like poking out the warning light on your dashboard because it's interrupting your pleasant drive. Sooner or later, another warning light will go off and eventually you'll end up broken down and stuck having to face the consequences of your decisions. The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone: Jesus is often likened unto a stone or a rock in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 10:4 says He's the rock of provision that followed Israel in the desert. 1 Peter 2:8 says, He's the stone of stumbling, Daniel 2:45 says, He's the stone cut without hands that crushes the kingdoms of this world, Isaiah 8:14 says, He'll become a sanctuary; But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over, And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Romans 9:33 says, as it is written, "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED," Psalms 92:15 says, To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him, Psalms 62:2 says, He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. There are many more, but I won't belabor the point. Jesus is indeed the bedrock of our faith, we'll either stumble over His message or submit to it. The scribes knew Jesus had spoken this parable against them. His words cut them to the heart, and they were convicted by the Holy Spirit. People always have and always will react to the Holy Spirit in me of two ways: accept it with joy, or reject it with anger. The scribes reacted to the conviction of the Holy Spirit in the second manner by rejecting, not by receiving. Their anger ended up where it always ends up, in a plot to murder Jesus instead of repenting before Him. Heb 4 says, For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. John 1 says Jesus is the Word made flesh who came full of grace and truth. The Word was standing before them, piercing their flesh and making them very uncomfortable. The Word will always make our flesh uncomfortable, if we have sin in our life. In the natural, if we go into surgery, they give us something to deaden the pain. When God does spiritual surgery, it's much less painful if we submit sooner rather than later. Sin, like cancer, never stays a small entity, it'll always grow, become more painful and take us down. We can use all sorts of methods to deaden the pain, but sooner or later, we will submit to God's surgery. Papa God, please keep me pliable to Your soft voice that I'll only ever need just a whisper from You.

Rejection. Sometimes the idem rejected is the one that was the most needed. The one who came teaching and preaching love would be rejected. By his love, He became what man needed to regain fellowship with God.
