"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.

God sent Jesus to heal us both physically and spiritually. To forgive us of our sin, and to show us the right way to get to heaven. If we follow Jesus guidance, we will be blessed and assured our place in Heaven. Thank you God.

Holy Spirit had anointed Jesus (chosen by or as if by divine election) to preach to ALL, even the poor, for God is not one who chooses because of a person's status or wealth. He tells all (if they will listen) of the freedom in God if they will only trust. He will the prisoners (captives of the worldly beliefs and bondages) free. He will heal the sick (if we will but believe and trust). He will lift the spirits of the oppressed and love them all if they will trust in Him. Praise You, Lord, for Your love of all and Your willingness to minister all who will but believe in Jesus. Help me/us, Lord to be more like You. Amen

This is what Jesus continually does for me, this verse. As in v.43, Jesus proclaims it once again! This is what Jesus the Christ does for all who believe in him!!
