Hi Rubie! According to my bible which also is a study bible it explains it this way.... "The term (for eagles) here refers to vultures that gather over dead animals. When the judgment comes, it will be final and terrible, with the stench of death and the presence of vultures everywhere." Verse 36 refers to the Son of Man who will divide humankind into two groups: those who are taken to judgment and those who are left to live and reign with Christ." The dead and the vultures refers to the unrighteous. Some scholars believe this to be reversed: that the "taken" are those with Christ and the ones left are not. I hope this somewhat helps.
