" 'If what they vowed is an animal that is acceptable as an offering to the Lord, such an animal given to the Lord becomes holy.

I need help understanding this confusing chapter. When the people offer animals to the Lord. What specifically does this mean? Where is the animal taken, and after it is offered, what happens to the animal? Dedicating land, people? What exactly does this mean? I am not sure what the custom was back then. Please help me understand this chapter.

If we offer ourselves as a sacrifice to the Lord, it becomes holy; in the customs of the Old Testament, we would offer sacrifices such as a lamb to the Lord our God in order to cleanse ourselves from sin. How much greater will we be cleansed if we offer ourselves as holy to the Lord!

We are the lamb... offer your body rather than the lamb to be holy.
