Community

It's the Obeying part that I am struggling with. I'm a new Christian and hopefully I'll get better at that as time goes on. I pray about it every day. I seem to be getting better, but still have a long way to go.

I think the obedience comes naturally as you learn to love Him. If we concentrate on loving Him and how much He loves us, we will Trust Him, appreciate and love Him and want to do what He says. We Will begin to understand that He asks those things for our own good Not His. He doesn't NEED anything from us, including our obedience. He WANTS to love us and be loved by us. Hope that helps!

It does Help, thank you. After I thought about it for a second, I realized that I am much better than I used to be. I used to do anything and everything without giving it a second thought. After I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, any time I start to do something that I know is wrong my conscience immediately and overwhelming tells me to stop it before I do it. My conscience simply won't allow me to be the person I used to be. I know that has to be God working in my life changing me. After 47 years of living in anarchy, all of the sudden I've developed a conscience. At first I thought I was losing my mind LOL! Then, I realized that I just had to stop doing what I was doing and hanging out with who I was hanging out with. It really is amazing.
