Note they were in no hurry. They simply waited until the Lord spoke to them on how to handle the matter. We are to have patience with every decision. Note how the people sought God's guidance in every case.

I like the example here. They didnt make a decision until the will of the Lord was clear. If only we would do the same in all of our decision making. Wait until the will of the Lord is very clear!

To me it is eye-opening to see that the Israelites were seeking the will of the Lord, even in this circumstance. They did not respond in a bad way. They were not sure how to handle the situation, so they turned to the Lord for guidance. This is something we all should learn and exercise.
