Moses is given instruction as to the purification of a woman after she gives birth to a son or daughter. And what they need of offer for a atonement. It must have been very hard on women in those days. I wonder how a modern day woman would react if the old rites where to return today. But they where God fearing people then much more so then today.

I don't understand why the difference in time between the boy and the girl, but it is God's requirement and must be obeyed. Today, mother's have their children out and about when they are just days old.
