Job 16:20
My intercessor is my friend
as my eyes pour out tears to God;
as my eyes pour out tears to God;
Angela G. from North Myrtle Beach, SC said:
Though Jesus had not yet been on earth Job spoke of an intercessor an advocate for him in heaven. He knew the connection to come of Jesus and God with man. I found this in a cometary that helped me put it into words
"In anticipation of the Messiah, Job essentially said: "Christ, who is God and man, will plead my cause with his Father; he can prevail, because he is God equal to the Father; he will undertake it, because he will be man like to me." (Trapp)
Thank you God!!!

Job was under great duress and was attacked by those who should have been an encouraging him but he still stood with God, even though questioning God. Brings to mind a friend of ours and sister in the Lord, who was going through a very challenging time, though not so severe as what Job was facing. My wife and several other ladies gathered around her and encouraged her and prayed over her. This would have been a much better effort for those around Job but no, they attacked him, suggesting it was his fault that he was in such duress. Lord, help me to remember to be a support to those in trouble and support and pray for them, rather than judge them. Amen

Even though this was many years before Jesus, this sure sounds like Job is describing our friend and intercessor, Jesus Christ.
Job knew God was his friend. God protects us in all things.

Never forget that our Intercessor laid down His live for us! "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." (John 15:13-14)

Jesus as my intercessor, sits at the right hand of God, and He's the friend that sticks closer than a brother. Regardless of what I go through, Jesus will never leave me or forsake me. He is my only Hope. I must trust Him at all times. In the end, Job is healed, restored and gets back twice as much than before. this gives me hope that God will do it for me also.
