I'm still amazed at the absolute and complete arrogance of these people. After hearing Jeremiah prophesy and everything coming to pass just as he said they go to him:
Oh please, Jeremiah, seek the Lord for us, we promise to do WHATEVER He tells us thru you. Then they have the audacity to say,
What? That's not what we wanted to hear, so you must be lying. Then they go to Egypt and take Jeremiah with them.
Papa God, please show me any arrogance and pride in my life that I may always hear from You and heed your commands that it may bring You all the glory and honor that You and You alone are worthy of, in Jesus name, Amen

This verse got me to thinking about how often out of pride and arrogance we think that we know better what's better for us than God does. Even as a Christian I have heard God speaking to me through a brother or sister in Christ, but because what they said the Lord had told them to tell me didn't agree with what I felt in the flesh, I denied it as a message from God. As Proverbs 16:18 states, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Pride and arrogance was one of the biggest stumbling blocks in my walk wit God when I first came to Christ and one that I battle with for many years. For the most part I have overcome pride and arrogance, but if I'm not careful it will still raise it evil, hoary head from time to time.

So often people then, and even today go against the will of God and end up in a disastrous state or perish into a lost eternity. They don't want to hear truth and decide to make up their own minds, disregarding God's commandments. Lord, reveal Your truths to those who will hear it, and I believe You know who will, because You know all things. Help me, Lord to never forsake Your turths regardless of how challenging life may be and give me divine appointments to be a witness to Your truths. Amen
