Jeremiah 37:9
"This is what the Lord says: Do not deceive yourselves, thinking, 'The Babylonians will surely leave us.' They will not!

This verse got me to thinking about how we have a tendency to deceive ourselves into thinking when everything is going good for us that we can do it on our own and really don't need God in our day to day life. Oh, how foolish we are at times to think that we don't need God's guidance and protection even in the most trivial matters. I thank God daily that He knows how to humble me when I become puffed up with pride over my accomplishments, forgetting that it was God who gave me the abilities to achieve those things.

Yes Jerry, we all need the Lord everyday, in good times and in bad.

Yes, Jerry and Nancy. Just remember the battle of Ai. They had such an enormous victory in the battle before that that they said Ai can take it from here. Boy did God prove them wrong. Lord, I NEVER want to believe that I can do ANYTHING apart from You.
