Its almost like Hosea is beginning an angry prayer against the people, and then gets a check in his spirit, changes his mind and asks God, what will you give them? He ends up asking for wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. Perhaps because he knew of the coming judgment, he prayed for mercy, asking God to give them few children so those children will not have to face the horrors of His coming judgment. He realized the curses of Deu 28:32 were coming  Your sons and your daughters shall be given unto another people, and your eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no strength in your hand, and he couldn't bear that thought. Sometimes those who see themselves as more spiritual and closer to God than others in a church or group get all angry and frustrated with those who don't seem to have hearts burning for the LORD. Their frustration is understandable but the pause in Hosea's prayer should give them pause. It's great for us to long for revival and spiritual passion among God's people, but if we get all proud, angry, or bitter against them, we become just as defiled as the people we're judging and Satan has won a great victory, Papa God, keep my eyes on You and Your will for me and never focus on the sin, but the sinner who's eyes are blinded by the enemy of our soul. I pray You'll bring revival and open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see You high and lifted up shining in the light of Your glory. Pour out Your spirit and love as we sing holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.
