Here we see the Lord God calling Israel to repentance, repentance of their Idol worship, seeking gods that can't help them. The God and Savior in this verse is Christ, the only Savior who can pardon sin and save the sinner.

Amen, Peter. Both our nations, after beginning by including God in their foundations, drifted away. I see a ray of hope in your nation of America, that your current President is attempting to bring God back to the center. these are hard chapters of the consequences for sin. GOD keeps telling them to come back but they are so stiff necked.
