Hebrews 7:27
Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
Christine E. from Somewhere said:
Jesus is impenetrable in purity and He is without sin. He was a human but He was our Father's Son sent to a destructive people, a constantly backsliding people. I am amazed at Jesus' strength and His incomprehensible love for me and my brothers and sisters. I am blown away that He made the ultimate sacrifice for us, even when people were making it terribly difficult for Him. I am reminded in my deepest valleys that I am cared for by a very devoted Being-Jesus, who is closer to me than any other.
I so long for others to know Him the way I do but I cannot make others commit to Him. Having Jesus is a life-time commitment, it is a marriage bond. I pray for people that I know to come into understanding of Him and His great sacrifice. Skeptics need to be handled by special kinds of people who take orders from Christ and I personally wish to perform the duties He has for me in helping shed His light into the lives of those people He desires me to reach to.
our Father in Heaven,
grant me the clearness of mind to know who you send me out to embrace with your light through Your word. grant me patience and endurance to accomplish what you desire for me to do and to speak to the lot of people with you wish me to impact. I know you are powerful in Your secret and miraculous ways of speaking through me and to me through Your Holy Spirit. If people that I know are living in unbelief and I can offer them encouragement that you deem suitable for me as it lines up with You, let me be Your hands and your feet. Thank you for blessing me during periods in my life in ways I didn't expect and through people who too asked you to use them for the expansion of salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ.
By the Blood of Jesus,
Amen

I can only imagine what it was like for the priest to have to daily offer up animals, birds and grain offerings (depending on the sin) for the people. There were hundreds of thousands of Israelites in the camp and the Levitical priest had to serve them all because no one was perfect and eventually had to go to the temple with a sacrificial offering. To meditate on that, then realize that God's provision through his son our savior Christ Jesus was greater and had to be done only one time for all eternity for everyone, demonstrates a God of great wisdom and love. No matter how many times the billions of us on earth sin, we just have to look to our savior, repent and ask for forgiveness. No kept animals are needed. No trips to the temple with a sin offering so that everyone knew you had done something wrong. No judgement by another imperfect human but love from a priest who is holy forever. Thank you Jesus!

He sacrificed for their sins...and for our sins. I am reminded of one of the hymns of the church: Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed it white as snow. I love him because he first loved me and gave his life that I might have life abundantly now, and life eternally in the hereafter. Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice!!!
