Hebrews 5:7
During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
We cannot imagine the agony that Jesus suffered, not only physically but emotionally as well, yet He continually petitioned His Father to see if their might be another way to provide a sacrifice for the sins of the world. Even though He knew that death on the cross was the only way, He was obedient to the Father to proceed with the plan of crucifixion. To me, one Scripture portrays the agony of His anxiety; Luke 22:44  And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Amen Lloyd you explained this very well, the agony the Lord went through on behalf of us sinners. And with our prayers and petitions, daily Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, He took upon Himself the sins of the whole world, Jesus died on the cross for our Salvation.

This reminds me of when Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane. (From Matthew 26: 38-39)Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane. and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." vs. 38) Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." -- (This shows that He was submitted to God, His Father.)

The key to an answered prayer is reverent obedience/submission to my Heavenly Father. An example that our Lord Jesus Christ gave us.
