Genesis 45:5
And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.

We don't understand the plans of God some times. What may seem terrible to us may be used of God to save others. Joseph trusted God, even when he languished in jail. His heart was full of faith and forgiveness.

Joseph was totally forgiving, realizing that it was God who had caused his brothers to sell Him as a slave, knowing that it would be for the rescue of their entire tribe in the years ahead. It is amazing how God provides, even when we wonder what is going on, because He sees the whole picture, beginning to end. Praise the LOrd. Lord, help me/us to trust in You, even when it seems You have abandoned me/us. Amen

Here's Joseph telling, don't be mad at yourself for selling me for it was God's doing. His plan all along so that I could save lives by interpreting Pharoah's dream. Lord, I pray when things go different than I planned that I can look and know you have a bigger and better plan than mine.

Amen, Patty, and sometimes it's difficult for us to just TRUST in Him. God bless.

Key words God Sent Me: Joseph is like a savior sent by God to preserve life due to the famine. Death would have been the consequence of this famine. God sent his only Son Jesus to preserve Life because of sin. The consequences of sin is death, and Jesus Christ shed blood Conquered Sin and Death.

Joseph is a great example of what it means to continue to trust the Lord regardless of our circumstances. Think about what he's been through. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers. He was falsely accused of a crime and served several years in prison. But the amazing thing is he has no bitterness at all toward anyone including his brothers. When he saw his brothers come the first time and bow down before him in fullfillment of his dreams God opened his eyes. God was using him to work out His plan. Often times it's easy to hold on to bitterness but in the end the only one we are hurting is ourselves. Lord help us to let go of the past and help us to see instead how you have used it in our lives to grow spiritually!
