Everything was either overlaid or made of PURE GOLD it doesn't say gold it says pure gold. The covenant deserved pure qualities as was the same for the sacrifice that was the covenant that covered all our sins, Jesus Christ pure of sin.

I noticed the ark and the table and many other articles in the tabernacle are made of acacia wood covered with pure gold. I do not know the exact meaning of this but it seems that the gold is there to cover or protect the wood, and that gold is used because it is the most precious metal. But we know that though gold is refined by fire it still perishes, but our faith in Christ Jesus is even more precious than gold (1 Peter 1:7) because it will last for eternity.

Selecting one verse is difficult for me because it is the whole chapter that shows the radiance of God. The exactness of the design, the precision of carvings, and everything overlaid in gold. The beauty of the the ark is beyond words, just as God's character is beyond words.

I noticed that gold was used everywhere in this chapter. Gold is very expensive and the Lord is worth all our wealth. I should not be stingy with the things of God.
