Can you imagine a pastor announcing, "Stop bringing in your offerings. We have far more than we need." The skilled craftsmen took all that the people brought them and fashioned together a place of worship. Each giver helped in the building of something great, the Tabernacle of God. How much should we give? Jesus took note of the widow at the temple giving all to God!

What an incredible display of personal sacrifice. The people had to be restrained from bringing in any further offerings. This is the place each of hearts should be, we should be willing bring God everything we have, everything we are, not only our treasure, but along with it our time and talent.
Place in me oh God a heart willing to sacrifice at a rate, that I have to be restrained from further giving.

How much is enough when it comes to giving to the Lord, especially when we think what God has given to us. For starters He has given us eternal life thanks to what Jesus did for us on the cross. How much is enough? All I know is we can never out give God! "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Imagine a day when you heard this announcement from the pulpit in a church service today. Imagine even if all believers gave so generously the first Sunday of the month that no additional offerings were needed for the rest of the month. God has given so much to us thanks to Christ, believers should then be the most generous people in the world. Lord help me to be a cheerful giver!
