I have often wondered why Christianity has changed the sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday, and does it matter as long as we set one day aside to worship the Lord. Today, even Sunday is disregarded and stores are open Sunday the same as any other day, for the most part. The Lord was very specific in regards to the sabbath. If you disobeyed you were to be killed. When I was a young boy, all stores were closed Sunday and no company operated. Disturbing how our culture has disobeyed God. Any thoughts?

it would be great if most things would shut down once a week and people spend time in church and with their families. i think marriages would last longer and kids would be more secure of their parent's love for them which leads to being able to recieve God's love.

I can remember Sunday being a family day. Centered around going to church in the morning and a great meal in the afternoon. Still today if I don't go to church on Sunday it doesn't feel like a Sunday to me. Something is missing that day.

We were created to work seven days and rest one day. This day of rest is holy to the Lord and it is a sign to heaven and earth that we are His people.

I think businesses should be closed on Sunday's. I try very hard to avoid businesses on Sunday but I work in healthcare and also understand people need me on Sundays.

I believe the Lord understands that Annmarie. I believe Matthew 12:11-12 covers that sort of work but I wonder why Christianity has changed the actual sabbath to Sunday, when as I understand, it was supposed to be Saturday. He pronounced death to those who did not observe it. Blessings.

How many of us Christians try to clear our schedules to observe our Sunday sabbath. It is very difficult in this world today. I work in the church on Sunday as a Team Leader. I try to make my afternoons and evenings quite on Sundays to observe the Lord's greatness.

In this day and age of 24/7 if "Christians" were to observe this 24/6 rule, not working, shopping, eating out etc on the Lord's Day.....would the "world" have to change to 24/6 also?

Our Lord Jehova advices us to not be lazy. For must be productive for six daus of the week, but that on the week we must not labored as ,we must dedicate some time to our magnificant and only true God from above. Take some time out on the sevent day of to week to give glory to all that are in heaven,so that we may be forgiven og our sins and be part of the new world. AMEN
