You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.

What a joy to my heart it is to know that Jesus was the once and for all sacrifice that made a way for us Christians to be justified with God. we no longer have to make an alter and do all that is spoken of in exodus 30, all we have to do is accept Jesus' sacrifice and be washed by His blood. Rather than the priest going into the Holy of Holy's once a year in the Old Testament with complete fear and terror, God says because of Jesus, we may approach boldly. Hallelujah that God has made a way for us to commune with Him through prayer, and to know He desperately wants the relationship with us puny, little sinners. I'm in awe of his character and what His name means, but at the same time it's just blatant shock and confusion of His desire for me and you.

God bless you all. My understanding to this verse is that all the things that are in God's church and used for Him are considered holy and we should understand and remember that even the house that we congregate and feel the Lord's presence should be respected and should be considered with most reverence....even more than our own home, because the God I serve is holy and there is no sin or worldly things in Him. God bless you.

I agree with you Damaris, although I see this verse as meaning even so much more.I love this verse. Just think of what it is saying that '...whatever touches them will be holy. We're told the Old Testament is a shadow of things to come, and I see this as revealing to us that we should apply this to our own selves and what God says about the vine and the branch, or as it is written, "For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches." (Romans 11:16) Think about it, and ask God to reveal to you by His Holy Spirit whether this that I'm sharing is true or not. Jesus is the firstfruit, we are the lump; Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. Of course He is holy, which means we are also holy, not because of anything we do or don't do, but simply because HE is holy, and we are in Him and He dwells in us. Because of Jesus and only because of Him, we are able to present our bodies a living sacrifice, HOLY (because He is holy, we are also), acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. (Romans 12:1) Jesus is our wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1Corinthians 1:30) We are covered in Him (Galatians 3:27) clothed with the garments of salvation, covered with the robe of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). We are sanctified in Him, which means we are perfected forever according to (Hebrews 10:10,14). He is our refuge, our fortress, our hiding place, (Psalms 46:1-11; Psalms 91) and in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." (Acts 17: 28) We have an awesome, mighty God, worthy of all honor, all glory, all praise. Blessed be His Holy Name. I can understand why everyone on earth and in heaven and under the earth will all one day bow before Him and say, only You are worthy O LORD only You. <3
