It is amazing how Jehu could be so fervent in destroying worshipers of Baal and yet he did not turn from the other sins committed in Israel. It shows me that as the Lord reveals sins I must deal with them and walk according to His commands. I believe we have it easier today than the Israelites did at that time because we have Christ as our sacrifice. However, even in the New Testament it tells us we must confess and repent of our sins. How ironic to put all that effort into cleaning up one area of sin concerning Baal, but yet still have another whole area not dealt with. Proof of our need for Jesus, our Savior!
