1 Samuel 17:45
David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
This verse here says that David makes it clear that he is coming to this battle with the power and authority in the name of the Lord Almighty. To prove Gods superiority over other gods, that, the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. God will act on any ones behalf , like Davids, if you trust in Him.

David was no more than a young boy but he knew God and he knew God's power. David was not afraid for God was in him and he fought to bring glory to God not to himself. Lord, help me to fight for your glory, for your praise - not for me or to have people praise me. Let my eyes look to you for my strength.

The story of David verses Goliath is well known and most talked about for a reason. It displays the Lord's power and deliverance. When we look at the size and strength differences between David and Goliath, and the outcome of the battle, we can see how the Lord's hand in it. Goliath came forth, a giant 9 feet 9 inches tall, fully protected with bronze helmet and armor, and equipped with spear and javelin while David came forth with a staff in his hand and a sling and 5 rocks in his shepherd bag and the faith in the Lord Almighty. The battle is the Lord's, let Him fight your battle today, just have faith as David had in Him.

this verse up to 47 is so powerful, it gives me chills to read the conviction that Davin had in the God of Israel. there is power in the name of God. truly David knew that the Lord was with him and that God would give him victory like He did with the lion and the bear. May this story impart strength and conviction in the mighty God we serve and worship, the Lord Jesus whose name has been exalted above every other name.

Hallelujah! I love this verse. It's just what I needed after my comment yesterday.
I feel sooooo free after that confession.
I was just talking to God saying. I know Ur going to use this to show Yourself to people. That's what I'm here for and that's what's important. I'm just trusting God, that HE will be glorified. Then I heard Him say, it's time to go deeper. Now I'm excited about going deeper with Him and how sweet that will be.
