1 Chronicles 21:24
But King David replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying the full price. I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing."

A sacrifice cost something. Araunah and his sons saw the angel and was willing to give not only the land but the animals for David to sacrifice to end the plague. But the plague was a result of David's sin and he had to pay the price for the land and the sacrifices. This land was the very land where the temple would be built. It was holy ground for the people of Israel. Even though the temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 that land belongs to the nation of Israel and the Bible is clear that a temple will be rebuilt there in the future. Come Lord Jesus!

A sacrifice that cost nothing is not a sacrifice at all. Are we willing to give til it hurts, go out of our way to help someone, or be undignified in our worship. Oftentimes I admit that's not the case for me and how I wish that wasn't so. Love for Jesus and others should surpass our comfort zones and I pray God He molds me and shapes me to truly worship in spirit and truth.

Beautifully stated Mario. What would the church look like if we all sacrifice just a little and would be willing to leave our comfort zones.

Yes Mario and Nancy, the world would look a LOT different if the church had that type of attitude. When we go to give to the poor, how many of us go into our closet and say what in this closet would I not be caught dead in at a worm wrestle...that's what I'll give away. Or go into our pantry and get a can of okra or black olives that have been in there for eons to give to the food drive. Can't we just see God smiling from ear to with satisfaction over our sacrifice? Papa God give me a kind and generous heart for You and what's precious to Your heart. I surrender my stingy hoarding heart to You to deal with as You see fit, in Jesus name.
