It may have been foolish of Jepthah to say what he did but it was very wise of himand his daughter to keep the word that was said. How many times in our lives have we jromised something to Godand never fufilled or kept our word. How many times have we promesied something to each other and never kept it? But here is a man of his word someone who can be trusted though he said something rash he kept it...How many men do you know do that today?

This verse tells me that God saved them many times,but they just continued like nothing happened. So when distress came again and they cried out to God. God told them to more or less go away! This tells me that like us, God does not like to be taken advantage of. The Isrealites were using God when danger came but when everything was fine well who needs God. God wasnt havent anything to do woth this atittude, he wantss us heart and soul all the time not just mouth sayers or when it is convient.
