Job 10:15
If I am guilty—woe to me!
Even if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head,
for I am full of shame
and drowned in my affliction.
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job is saying if he is guilty, then he wants to deal with it. Job is also saying even if he is innocent he is full of shame and cannot lift his head as people look at him and think that he is suffering because he has sinned. I know that he is feeling so discouraged and alone, but this is exactly what Satan likes when we get to that point. This is when Satan can do his work with us when we feel like nothing and are worthless. God, You know that at times I felt the same way and Satan tried really hard to keep me there with those thoughts. But thank you God for rescuing me from these thoughts. Of course I know its not over yet and so I continue to pray for You to help me when discouraging thoughts come to me.

Job 9:22
It is all the same; that is why I say,
'He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.'
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job says it is all the same for the blameless and the wicked, but it is not the same. It is the same in the sense that both may be destroyed, but it is different in the sense of why God is allowing the bad things happening to each. As a Christian, when bad things happen to us we may not understand why but we can know that God has a reason beyond our comprehension and trust in Him with it all. Thank you God for all that has happened to me as I know that even the bad things have taught me things that I would have never learned. And God, help the ones that are not Christians to come to You so that they may experience You thru these bad times and know that there is good in that too with You in control of it all.

Job 8:15
They lean on the web, but it gives way;
they cling to it, but it does not hold.
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job is getting advice from ones that do not know what they are talking about. The advice of how the sinners lean on a web of their sins to find out that it does not hold them is good advice, but not for Job cause he is not living in sin. These friends of Job think they know what they are talking about but they are judging Job where they have no proof to back up their ideas about Job. God, help me to never judge anyone but to be there for someone who is suffering. Be there with words of encouragement that You know what You are doing. We don't always understand why, but help us to trust that You do know why. Thank you God for being my Heavenly Father and help me to not get trapped in the web of this world.

Job 7:20
If I have sinned, what have I done to you,
you who see everything we do?
Why have you made me your target?
Have I become a burden to you?
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job continues to beg God for forgiveness but doesn't know what he has done wrong. Now he begs God to let him know what he has done wrong. Job is not only suffering from physical pain but also is suffering spiritually. He loves God so much and wants to please Him, he wants to live for Him, and is now not able to as his sufferings have taken over his thinking and his whole life. Job wants to die and is begging God to let him die. However, even though Job is going thru such horrible pain, he still holds on to God and does not curse Him. God, help me to always have my eyes open for others who are suffering and give me the wisdom and compassion to reach out to them. Not to judge, but to encourage and give hope in You. Thank you God for always being there in times of need.

Job 6:24
"Teach me, and I will be quiet;
show me where I have been wrong.
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job's crying out with words of asking, begging, please forgive me,and teach me, show me what have I done wrong. Job is saying that he will be quiet and listen to whatever God has to tell him, even though the truth may hurt, he doesn't care as he just wants to know what he's done wrong.He wants to make it right with God. My heart goes out to Job with his pain and hurt, and I look up to him as he still has not cursed God. Job has a good heart and truly loves God. God, help me to have the strength and faith as Job. Whatever I have to endure here on this earth I want to always keep my eyes on You.

Job 5:7
Yet man is born to trouble
as surely as sparks fly upward.
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job's troubles are not the result of his sins or his living not right with God as it is suggested to him. We all have been born into a sinful world and will all experience troubles and that is not always the result of our relationship with God. When things happen to us, we shouldn't question God, but know that He knows what He is doing. God, help me to praise You when things are good for me and help me to praise You when things aren't good for me. Thank you God for my life and all the circumstances that face me cause I know nothing is an accident without Your Hand in it all. No matter what I have to go thru, help me God to learn from it that my lesson will bring me closer to You. So just as sparks fly upward and there's nothing that can change that, I realize that troubles will always be in my life and there's nothing that can change that, but what I do know is that thru the troubles God will always be with me.

Job 4:5
But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged;
it strikes you, and you are dismayed.
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
As Job helped others who were hurting he now needed someone to help him by sympathising with him and not judging in a way that Eliphaz did as he did not completely understand the real truth. God, help me to never forget the times that I hurt so badly and how You were there for me and then help me to always be able to see when someone else may need encouraging words rather than judgemental words. Unless we have walked in someone else's shoes and truly understand what is going on, we have no right to scold and inform how they should handle things. Thank you God for always being with me when I really needed You and for putting people in my life to help pull me out of darkness.

Amen, Patsy. Well expressed. I can sense what Job was going through after all he had to contend with in his grief. It was unreasonable for him to be criticized for grief and suffering he endured. God bless, Patsy.

Job 3:11
"Why did I not perish at birth,
and die as I came from the womb?
Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job now wishes that he was never born because of all of his troubles, pain,and suffering. He still doesn't curse God which shows that he still has all his faith in Him. At different times in my life I asked also why was I born and wished I could die, but my reasons were nothing compared to Job's. He lost all of his children, his health, and all that he owned. God, thank you for my life and I don't want to ever wish that I was never born. You want me to live for a reason and when things get tough in my life, help me to be strong remembering Job.

Job 2:10
He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"

In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job is very faithful to God as he accepts the good along with the bad that has taken place in his life. He shows his thankfulness to God when everything was good in his life and he still believes in God and does not question Him when his whole life has been turned upside down. Thru his pain and suffering that has taken over his body, he still remains faithful to God even though he doesn't understand why. God, help me to not question You when my life is not going too good. I want to trust You that You know what You are doing and give me courage to stand up to others that try to persuade me to follow other paths that are not of You. Thank You God for giving me strength when I didn't think I had any left in me.

Job 1:21
and said:

"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised."

Patsy W.
Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job was blessed in so many ways and he thanked God for all of his blessings, and then when Job lost it all he still thanked God and praised Him. My first feeling was, Why God, why would You allow this for Job. But then as I see Job's response I see the meaning of truly trusting God that He knows what is best for us. God, help me to always trust You and praise You when things are good for me and when things aren't good for me, knowing that You have it all in control. Thank you God for all of my blessings and thank you for the lessons that I am learning when my life has been torn upside down....And that is good cause this has been the time in my life that I am learning to rely on You and am growing in a close relationship with You. That is worth all of my troubles.
