From verse 1, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble to this verse, God is with us. He is telling us to be still, to wait and know that He is God. Nothing in this life is permanent except the love and grace of God. He will be exalted among all nations. Lord, help us to be still and wait. You have told us you have prepared a place for us and you will return to take us home. I choose to live by faith that you have done just that and will take me home in your time.

In times of trouble, diseases,and war, in the mist of all this chaos God says "Be still, and know that I am God. We are too Trust in God.

It is sometimes difficult to be still but right in this verse, He tells us that He is God and He will be exalted among the nations and in the earth. I spoke Saturday evening with a Spirit filled lady at our local House of Prayer and she informed me that the gospel in China, is exploding like never before. China, where people are persecuted for their faith in Christ. This I have known for some time but then, she told me that even in Iran, which is primarily a Muslim country and hates the message of Christ, that people are coming to Christ in droves and God is moving in their hearts and converting even Muslim, imams. God is moving and we as believers just need to trust in Him and keep praying for Him to bring the revelation of the truth of Christ. Thank You, Lord, for Your encouraging word and give us the faith to believe and keep praying for a move of Your Holy Spirit like we have never imagined before. Amen

I said in my post the other day that I HATE waiting. Well if there's anything I hate worse than waiting, it's being still. The act of being still and getting quiet is a huge challenge in this hectic world. The world says be busy. God says be still so that we can receive love, peace and guidance. Be Still, in Hebrew is let go, abandon, be quiet, pause, otherwise and in modern terms: Shut Up! May ask well tell me to stop breathing. Papa God, it's so hard for me to be still and quiet. Please, in Jesus name, help me to sit down and Shut Up.

"Be still and know" . . . faith in a nutshell. Though it would seem a simple thing to be still, it may be the single most difficult thing. Clearing our minds of all but God's presence is so illusive most of the time. For me it is a rare occasion when I succeed in allowing the Holy Spirit to do that work in me. May these times ever increase and become second nature (or rather, first nature) for me.
