Matthew 4:10
Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' "

This verse means to me that Satan is a tempter. If he tempted Jesus, he will do the same to us. Christians must always be alert to submit to God and resist the devil. We should always 'worship the Lord our God and serve Him - Only'!!! No time for Satan!!!

The devil attempted Jesus several times, putting a little twist on the truth of Scripture but Jesus was faithful to what He knew to be truth and refuted Satan each time. It is important to see what Scripture actually says and not twist it to make it say what we want it to say, as so many have. Personally, I believe that is why we have so many different denominations to who are causing struggles in the body of Christ. God did not start denominations, man did, and it has caused division and bickering within the body of Christ, as the devil sits back and laughs at us. Lord, I pray unity in the body of Christ, the church, that it would be an effective weapon against our mortal enemy, Satan. Amen

I'm sure the devil preys on my OCD and just general mindset, because negative thoughts will pop into my head and I find myself praying to God to help me get these devil-inspired thoughts out of my head. I don't want them in there and I don't want the devil in my life. I only live for God-- I only serve Him. The only thing I want to serve the devil is an eviction notice. I love you God! Praise Him!

I shows me what I am supposed to do when I am tempted. I am often tempted in the world for various reasons and forget that I am not alone. I pray that the Lord will help me to worship Him alone.

While there is more than one verse that I Would've chosen from Matthew 4. verse 10, stands out for me because Satan tempted Jesus three times and three times Jesus denied Satan's request. "Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him." Jesus stood on the word of his father and cast Satan away with the word of God for our salvation. He did not give into Satans temptations, but instead used a scripture for each of the temptations that Satan put before him. If we use the word of God against the temptations of Satan, Satan will never win.
