Leviticus 18:3
You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Here again we see Gods commands, don't walk like the Egyptians. The Egyptians practiced everything that was detestable to God. And as this chapter mentioned God said don't practice the ways of the Canaanites because this was going to be their new home. As Christians we can apply these same commands to our walk with the Lord, we are not promised Israel as our home , but were are promised Heaven, Heaven is our promised home. So Flee from the ways of Egypt Flee from the ways of the Canaanites. Prepare our Hearts for Our Promise Land, Heaven.

Very well expressed, Peter. As believers we must not follow the ways of life before our commitment to Christ but there must be repentance of those things. The Lord was instructing the Israelites through Moses, to turn from the ways they had seen in Egypt, and live as He commanded, even when they entered their new land He was instructing them not to adapt the ways of the new land either but to follow God's commands. Have been praying for those who have been and are yet in the path of hurricane Dorian. I understand several have died in the Bahamas and am praying for wisdom and protection for those yet in its path, wherever that might be. God bless you and yours Peter.

I believe that this has great meaning today. I feel and see that the churches are changing and accommodating thing that are not biblically sound. We are becoming more like the world and the world should become more like a Christian. The main focus of any church must be the word of God! We shouldn't be concerned about trying to please everyone. We should demonstrate Gods love and mercy but not give in to political correctness.

So true, Samuel. It brings to mind a Bible study we had at our church last evening regarding repentance and walking in the ways of the Lord. There were 26 people in attendance, of a congregation of about 200, including children and teens. What a lively discussion we had for an hour and a half. People were entering into the discussion so passionately. It was so exciting to delve into the topic of repentance, which I believe is not brought up nearly often enough in our churches today. God bless, brother.

Amen brother, there is nothing like getting into the word with our brother. Especially when it’s done with passion. God bless you brother.

Sure will be a relief, Peter, to be in a place where sin is non-existent. God bless.

God is holy and commands His people to be holy. We are called live separated lives in this world. There should be a vast difference in the behaviors of believers and unbelievers but sadly that is not the case. Churches are even looking and sounding more worldly in an attempt to win the world. We as believers need to revisit the doctrine of the holiness of God and once again restore a healthy fear of our HOLY GOD! Revive us again Oh Lord and begin that revival with me!

God calls His own out to be separate from the world; to serve Him and only Him. We can not do like the world and expect to be accepted by God.
