Lamentations 5:21
Restore us to yourself, Lord, that we may return;
renew our days as of old
renew our days as of old
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
A prayer of Jeremiah, that comes from the heart, to reclaim (to return) Israels heritage to the days of old. That should be our Prayer also, as a Nation it is time to reclaim our Christian Spiritual Heritage. Return us Lord to the Days of Old. 2 Chronicles: 7- 14 If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then when I hear from heaven and forgive them their sin and will heal their land. RESTORE US TO YOURSELF, LORD!

Lamentations 5:21 – King James 2000 reads . . . Turn us back to you, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. . . In Jeremiah’s prayer he is not just asking for forgiveness, he is asking for restoration. It is easy to forgive people but it is hard to put yourself in a vulnerable position by allowing them back into your life where they may hurt you again. Many times we love people for what we can get out of the relationship. But when we truly love we risk being hurt. We risk rejection but we may choose to love anyway. It is so easy to love God. We never have to worry about Him rejecting us and we never have to worry about Him deceiving us. We certainly don’t have to fear that He will be using us for what He can get out of us. We will never be able to out give God. If we should be so stupid (and we are) to turn our backs on God, we in our own strength will not be able to turn back. This is why Jeremiah is praying turn us back to you, O LORD. Why would anyone not want a relationship with God. He does all the work and He is the only one that will ever be rejected. Loving God is a win-win deal. Father in Heaven, bring us all back to You for that is where we all belong. Don’t let us turn to the right or the left; keep us on the straight and narrow Way to Life.

They're realizing that the reason they're separated from God is not that He changed His ways, but they did. Jesus is God and He's the same yesterday today and forever. It's His planet an me He gets to make the rules. Those rules are for the good of everyone, not just a few. You break the rules, you pay the price. If I feel far from God, I'm the one that moved, not Him.
Papa God, I see this great country grinding slowly toward the Marxist ideology and further and further from You. If this is all part of Your Grand plan to bring the end times stuff You prophesied in Revelation to usher Jesus into His rule and reign here, so be it. But if there's room in that plan for revival, please bring it and let it begin with me.

God wants us to be with Him and enjoy the relationship that He desires to have with us. We separate ourselves from the LORD by our sins and our refusal to repent and turn away from our sins. God wants us to be one with Him. He does not want us to be alone and guilt ridden.
