Isaiah 57:1
The righteous perish,
and no one takes it to heart;
the devout are taken away,
and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil.

Isaiah 57:1 – I don’t understand this verse. So why I did I choose it? Maybe because I need to chew on it a little longer. I understand the righteous perish and are spared evil. I focus on this when children die as it is the only way I can deal with God allowing something like that to happen. What I don’t understand is “no one takes it to heart”. Is God talking about how the evil people not taking it to heart when we die knowing there is one less narrow minded bigot that they don’t have to see and feel guilty when they do see us. Well, one thing I do know is that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And it doesn’t matter if no one cares and no one comes to your funeral and no one comes to your deathbed because Jesus is always with you and He will usher you into heaven. Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said unto Him, Lord, we know not where you go, how can we know the way? Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I am not sure on this either, but I try to understand that God knows what He is doing. He knows why He took a person even though I don't. I don't really know why He lets people die when they do, BUT I do know this; If they are living for Him they will go to Heaven with Him! They are not here in this crazy, evil world anymore and that is a good thing. I will see them again and even though they beat me there, I am happy that they are in God's hands and having the time of their lives dancing with the Angels around His Throne and singing praise and worship songs to Him, IN PERSON!! Hallelujah!

Nancy and Mary, I think Lloyd gave an excellent comment on that. I can't remember exactly what he said, and rather that mis quote him, click on his name and read it.

So many of the righteous have perished and continue to perish! Thank God that they find rest as they lie in death! Thank God that we are only sojourners on Planet Earth and that our real home is with God and His righteous ones!

This is a comforting verse, as I have often suspected that the dear saint friends we have lost over the past couple of years were taken home, because they served so well and they would be spared the troublesome days ahead. We who are left, I believe will need to be strong and stand firm in our faith. Help us, Lord, to remain stedfast in our faith as the end times tribulations come upon us. Amen. Sorry, I do not believe in pre-tribulation rapture theory as many prominent people of faith do. One such passage refering to the anti-Christ is Rev 13:7-8 "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (8) And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slRev 13:ain from the foundation of the world." If the saints are not here because of the so-called pre-trib rapture, then how is the anti-Christ going to overcome them??

Well, Lloyd, that's a subject that can be debated till the cows come home. According to the pre tribers, there will be people saved during the tribulation. I'm hoping to not hafta go thru it, but I'm not basing my relationship with God on it.

I am not sure on this either, but if you think about it, isn't Satan having his way over the saints and overcoming us now? Look at all the people who are dying today for their faith? Those crazy people cutting off the Christian's heads because they won't convert to Muslim religion? It sounds like to me instead of the people worrying about if this, or if that; they should be worrying about their soul and where are they going to be spending eternity if they are cornered about their faith in the Lord. AMEN? I want to be living for TODAY! I want to be right with Jesus for TODAY because we don't know what is happening. I could die today, Jesus could come back today, or I could get my head cut off today! And no matter how I look at it, if I am not right with Jesus in any of this, I am going to hell. So when people want to argue the Tribulation and the Pre-Tribulation, this is what I would tell them. AMEN??

Totally agree, Mary. I lean towart the post trib but would be VERY happy to be wrong on this one, and like you, I want to be ready. The problem I see with the pre-trib stance is, that if it is not pre-trib, I believe this could be the cause of many falling away because they have not prepared, thinking they are going to be taken out before the tribulation. That's my position and would love to be proven wrong but only by Jesus. Amen
