God never changes. Even before Christ came to earth God required repentance for His people to be holy before Him. When we come before, and receive Christ into our lives, we must also REPENT of our sins as Holy Spirit reveals them to us. Thank You, Lord, for sending Holy Spirit to reveal and convict us of our sins, that we may repent and be cleansed of all unrighteousness. Amen

Ezekiel 14:6 – The Leaders were on their way to ask Ezekiel what the Lord had to say. God told Ezekiel when they arrive to tell them to repent and turn from their idols and detestable practices. Why ask what the Lord wants if you are not going to do it. Maybe it was to look like they really cared what God wanted. We can fool people but we cannot fool God. We can look around the church and see those that are obviously living a sinful life. But God sees the heart and there are some people that look oh so spiritual on the outside but are worshiping idols in their heart. Jesus said, if you look lustfully at someone you have already committed adultery in your heart. Jesus also said, if you are angry with someone without a righteous cause you have already murdered them in your heart. The leaders already knew what God wanted. God wanted them to forsake their idols and turn back to Him. If an individual repents God will not destroy them. Just because you are living in a sinful nation that has turned their backs on God doesn’t mean you cannot repent and turn to Jesus and be saved. Prayerfully hundreds of thousands of people will repent and turn to the Lord before He destroys this nation, but God will not destroy our souls, we will be absent from the body and present with the Lord. As Paul said, to die is gain, therefore if Jesus is not your Lord, Savior and Friend repent now before it is too late. Today is the day of salvation. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Lord God, please give our nation a wake-up call so that many more people will be saved.

"Therefore say to the people of Israel,(and Nations of the World) 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! Jeremiah 25:4-5 And though the Lord sent all His servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention. They said , Turn now each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the Lord gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever. Key word for Gods people is Repent. Isaiah 30: 18 Yet the Lord longs to be Gracious to you; (us) therefore He will rise up to show you (us) Compassion. For the Lord is a God of Justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! Amen and Amen

He's saying there is time to repent and stop with the worship of idols. If not they will be destroyed.
