Hosea 11:4
I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.

Hosea 11:4 – The Lord gives us relationships on earth to help us understand our relationship with Him. Most of us can relate to what a good father and a good brother would be like, even if we have never experienced it. We are given the privilege to call God our Father and Jesus is our brother. We are the bride of the Christ which not only relates to a husband and wife relationship but even more of a bride and groom when the relationship is at an extreme intensity. Jesus is also our Lord and King. And of course God calls us friend. As God is our Father, He has provided for our every physical, emotional, and spiritual need. There is nothing that we have that was not given to us from God, even the air we breathe and the lungs in to receive it. As in most parent child relationships when children are young the take their parents for granted and have no clue of all the sacrifices their parents go through to provide for their needs. Although far from perfect, good parents offer their children unconditional love and that also is taken for granted. As a child matures they slowly begin to notice and appreciate the many things they are blessed with. In many cases, we do not know what we have until it is gone. God sometimes takes things away from us for a season to open our eyes and heart to receive and appreciate what He has done for us. This also is a process and I believe throughout all eternity we will still be learning to appreciate the many blessing and the unconditional love the Father has for us. Some people want nothing to do with God because they have had an abusive and perverted father or relative. Many who have been through bad marriages do not like to think of Jesus as our bridegroom. The thing we need to remember is that what God says in verse 9. “. . . For I am God, and not man – the Holy One among you. . . “ People will let us down because the best of men are men at best. Many people may use their ungodly experiences with their sinful, father, brother, husband, or friends as an excuse not to seek after the Lord, but on the other hand, many of us are drawn to the Lord because of our unholy experiences in life. Whatever your past may be, know this, God loves you more than you brain and heart will every understand. It takes faith to take God at His Word, and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11) Father in Heaven, thank You so much for allowing me to call You Father and for giving me the power to be called a child of God. I know I am not as grateful as I should be but I am a lot more grateful than I used to be and I trust I will be a lot more grateful as I walk with You and continue to see all the undeserved and unearned blessing that You give me each and every day. Thank You for allowing me to be able to read Your Word and hear Your voice. I am forever grateful for the cross. ♪ You did not wait for me to draw nigh to You, ♫ but You clothed Yourself in frail humanity. ♪ You did not wait for me to cry out to You, ♫ but You let me hear Your voice calling me. ♫ And I'm forever grateful, Lord, to You. ♪ And I'm forever grateful for the cross. ♫ And I'm forever grateful to You, ♪ that You came to seek and save the lost. ♪

God loves, knows all, doesn't give up, and there's still hope! 1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. 2 But the more they were called, the more they went away from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images. 3 It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them. 4 I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them. 7 My people are determined to turn from me. Even though they call me God Most High, I will by no means exalt them. 8 "How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboyim? My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused. 9 I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again. For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities. 10 They will follow the Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west. 11 They will come from Egypt, trembling like sparrows, from Assyria, fluttering like doves. I will settle them in their homes," declares the Lord.
