A Love story Key words "Love her as the Lord Loves the Israelites." The Great Love of God towards the Israelites even though they have sinned. Gods love for Israel remains stronger today then ever. Here we see Gods unconditional love that He has for His people. And God Loves us, For God so loved the World that He gave His one and only Son. That whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal life John 3:16. Gods Love is unfailing, unchanging, and unshakable.

Hosea 3:1 – It is easy to say we forgive someone. It is a tad harder to do good to those who have hurt and used us. But usually when God tells us to be kind to or wash the feet of those that have broken our hearts and cause us great pain we will do it in obedience to Him. It’s not that hard to give and do for others when we realize how much God has given and done for us. But God is telling Hosea to love her as the Lord loves the Israelites. Do you realize the cost of loving someone! When you love someone that is repeatedly unfaithful you are setting yourself up in a very vulnerable situation. It like putting a rope around your neck and asking people to hang you! God doesn’t just say feel love for her in your heart; God is saying show your love to your wife again. God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. We don’t physically have to die for others to show our love but we can die to our self. We can die to our desires, our dreams, our comfort, our pride and our fear of being hurt to love others as Christ loves us. Father in Heaven, the greatest commandments are to love You and love others. Father, I fall so short of loving like You do, but with pray and effort I can see changes me in that reflect You. Thank You for the progress I have made, now help me win the race.

This to me, indicates the love the Lord has for all, even when they sin against Him. He loves them, desiring that they return to Him and He will forgive. What a patient and loving God we serve. Help us to love and forgive as You do, Lord. Amen
