Exodus 13:17
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt."

God's plan is perfect because He knows the heart of man. We need to trust Him to guide us each and every day. Our problem is that we want to do things our way. Jesus told us to deny self and follow Him.

Key words here: For GOD said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." Israel is under the protection of the God Most High. God did not liberate His people to die in the wilderness, but He liberated /delivered them out of Egypt to get them to the Promised Land. They needed to Trust the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to get them through this difficult journey to the Promise Land.

So true Peter, and well expressed. And we His children need to trust Him today to lead us through this troublesome world. It's horrendous, the things going on in the world today but our trust must be in Him, our heavenly Father. God bless you my brother in Christ, as we approach the Lord's day once again. :-) PS: 88 here today and extremely humid. Still 84 at this hour.

Exodus 13: 17-18 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest perhaps the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: 18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up equipped for battle out of the land of Egypt. These people had been slaves for all these years. They had no clue as to how to fight off the enemy, and basically had any and all fight beaten out of them. So, God, took them around the land of the Philistines, who were mean, and pretty much a thorn in Israel's side all thru the old testament. But, God, knew at this point that they'd be afraid of the Philistines and go running back to Egypt with their tail between their legs, and spared them. In verse 19, Moses remembered to take Joseph's bones. Joseph envisioned that the Israelites would leave Egypt some day, and he wanted to be buried with his forefathers. Then, it says that God gave them a pillar of cloud by day and fire at night. When the pillar stopped, they stopped, when it moved, they moved. I like to call it their GPS, God's Positioning System. But not only did it guide them, it kept them out of the scorching sun in the day and kept them warm and gave them light at night. This pillar is also known as God's Shekinah glory that settled on Solomons temple in 1 Kings Chapter 8. It was so powerful, the priests couldn't even go in. It's also mentioned in Isaiah Chapter 6 where the train of His robe and fire fills the temple. This glory stays with them until Ezekiel Chapter 10, when he gets a vision of the cloud lifting from the Holy of Holies moving out toward the Mount of Olives and out of Jerusalem. Where God is basically saying, I've warned and warned you of your corruption, and now, I'm outta here, and the Lord departed the temple, and notice it headed toward where Jesus would be crucified. Papa, God, please keep me always under Your GPS, that I'll move and stay only when and where You'd have me do so, in Jesus name, Amen
