Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.

Both David and all the Israeli people gave, so that the temple of the Lord could be built, but David proclaimed that what they had given all belonged to the Lord anyhow, for without the Lord, there would be nothing to give anyhow. The Israeli people were a giving people then and that has never left them to this day. They are always the first to give, whether it be assistance to other nations, or to support each other in time of need. When there is a tragedy anywhere in the world, Israel are usually the first on the seen to give assistance. The Lord sets an example, through His people, for us to live by.
